Canonical 的 Ubuntu 桌面負責人 Martin Wimpress 現在正在構建一個新的基於 Ubuntu 的發行版“Ubuntu Retro Remix”，專門為 Raspberry Pi 愛好者和 retro game 而設計。

Ubuntu Retro Remix 基於 Ubuntu Linux 的非官方作業系統，用於在 Single Board Computer Raspberry Pi 上執行 retro game。受支援的 Raspberry Pi 型號包括 Raspberry Pi 4、Raspberry Pi 3 和 Raspberry Pi 2。
Martin Wimpress 是一位 retro game 老玩家。在此之前，他就已經使用 RetroPie 構建了一些 Raspberry Pi retro game 遊戲機。但 Martin 表示，他覺得自己無法從中學到任何新知識。因此，他啟動了這個新的 Ubuntu remix 專案；不僅是為了學習，也是為了所有想在 Pi 上開箱執行 retro game 的玩家。使用者無需在 Raspberry Pi 上安裝 Ubuntu for Raspberry Pi，然後再安裝 RetroPi，而只需在 Raspberry Pi 上安裝 Ubuntu Retro Remix，即可體驗 retro game。
根據專案描述，Ubuntu Retro Remix 發行版可以在一些基於 Raspberry Pi 的 retro game 遊戲機中執行，包括 MegaPi for Mega Drive，NESPi+ for NES Classic 以及 SuperPi for Super Nintendo（SNES）。
